About Connections With Nature

Healing through nature, animals, and authentic human connection

Our Story

Connections With Nature began with a simple truth: healing happens best when we slow down and return to what’s real—our breath, our bodies, the rhythm of the earth, and the quiet companionship of animals.

Founded on a private 4.5-acre sanctuary surrounded by forest and flowing water, this space was created as a refuge for the soul—where rescued animals and weary hearts meet in mutual respect, presence, and peace.

Our gentle herd of miniature horses, micro donkeys, and one wise Nigerian goat is not trained to perform. They choose to connect. In their company, something shifts. Walls come down. Minds quiet. Hearts open.

A woman kneels on the ground in a wooded area, interacting with a miniature horse, surrounded by several other miniature horses and a backdrop of trees and outdoor furniture.

Our Mission

We exist to offer nature-based healing experiences that help people reconnect with themselves, others, and the natural world.

Through mindfulness and wellness workshops, animal-involved experiences, and creative exploration, we help our guests rediscover joy, presence, and personal strength.

Whether navigating stress, seeking clarity, or simply needing rest, you are welcome here.

Why Nature + Animals?

The research is clear—and so is the feeling in your body when you step into nature:

Being with animals and surrounded by nature lowers stress, lifts mood, and restores balance.

At Connections With Nature, our animals live gently and peacefully. They embody what so many of us crave: presence without judgment, playful curiosity, quiet strength, and calm groundedness.

Through their gentle energy, they invite you to slow down. To breathe deeper. To stop striving—and simply be.

This isn’t therapy. It’s remembering.

When you join us for a workshop, you step into something ancient and essential: a connection that heals without words.

It’s coming home to yourself.

We invite you to explore, exhale, and rediscover what’s possible when surrounded by quiet, nature, and creatures who heal.

What Makes Us Different

  • Our Herd Is Our Healing Team – No forced interaction. Each animal chooses to connect in their own way.

  • The Setting Is Sacred – Elevated forest views, flowing river sounds, and natural beauty at every turn.

  • The Approach Is Gentle and Inclusive – We meet you where you are, without expectation or performance.

  • Every Experience Is Personal – Small groups, meaningful interactions, and space to just be.
